Mother Earth & Our Children's Future SAW Egypt prepared a publication Mother Earth & Our Children's Future, based on the SAW topics Climate change (translation in Arabic) and Global warming, to stimulate the interest of kids and young students in these issues. Mariam El-Agamy, our coordinator for the Middle East and Egypt raised the interest of the Egyptian Ministry of the Environment and got it's support for the publication. 'Mother Earth & Our Children's Future' was prepared by Mariam ElAgamy in cooperation with El Nasr Girls' College.
On the cover of the new publication: Dear parents
Global warming will affect us all but it is our children who will inherit the planet from us. Get your kids involved: teach them about global warming and how they can help by giving them checklist. The booklet, in the form of a colouring book, with information about global warming, the origin of the greenhouse effect and many good advices to reduce energy use, was printed and published under the auspices of the Minister of Environmental Affairs in Egypt, Engineer Maged George. The first workshop in a kindergarten Global warming by Mr. Salah El-Din Mohamed, Arabic Coordinator in E.G.C. When we slapped the globe It suffered a double slap We saw sufferance and last hope Our eyes cried in the trap O factories with your fumes Filling up all rooms O Man why oppress with your own hands O press yourself in all errands Cars increase like yeasty cakes Varying in length and in makes We don’t care what we do with our hands Polluting air, polluting lands We burn wastes everywhere With rash offences to the air We talk and talk but nobody hears To a deaf would that have caused more fears At all times electricity is on Without stopping, it's no fun!
| Dangers increase, all in low With effects that will not go Reactors make explosion Experiments with fumes of plosion All this without thinking As if it weren’t dangerous in blinking When the temperature rises tomorrow Ice caps will melt and we'll live in sorrow No beaches will be there And the end will come everywhere The world around us is like flowers If we conserve it, it will be ours Full of breeze, water and all We need to live, our life is gall The globe will make us repent For our deeds when everything is spent No regret will be useful When we drown being regretful |
