Wanted! Schools to trial our new Climate Change topic

We are looking for schools interested in trialing our new Climate Change topic during July – September 2006.

This trial has a different dimension to it as we are asking schools to produce and publish an online news story report on their findings instead of just completing the normal Science Across the World exchange form.

This will be done with the help of Making The News, a free online publishing system for schools hosted by the National Education Network and will still allow schools to collaborate, but share their responses in a new and exciting way.

The Climate Change topic should take about 6 hours classroom time. The results of the students work are used to publish a news story report.  All participating schools will be required to complete a short online feedback form.

In return, as a gesture of our appreciation, all schools will receive a Certificate of Participation. Up to 10 schools will also receive one of each - 'Computers in Science' cd’s with science experiments you can do on your computer and 'Conservation and Dwindling Resources' cd’s from the International Centre for Conservation Education. These will go to the 10 schools who provide the most comprehensive feedback.

The 6 best news stories will be displayed on the Making The News and the Science Across the World websites.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Karen Shoebottom on saw@ase.org.uk to register your interest or sign up directly online. Instructions below:

How to sign up

Science Across the World, in collaboration with the Making the News project, have created this opportunity for schools to participate in an exciting on-line project focusing on Climate Change.
