Science Across the World welcomes its 100th country!
At the Annual Meeting of the Association for Science Education, January 2005 at Leeds University, teacher Louise Taylor (right in the picture) from the Falkland Islands registered as the 100th country in the project on the Science Across the World stand.
Well as in such cases - we nearly became blind with the flashes – the event was attended by Science Across the World director Marianne Cutler (left) and GlaxoSmithKline representative Kay Roberts (middle). As the project is in its ‘teenage’ – it started 14 years ago with a group of enthusiastic teachers to create attractive science topics and exchange possibilities for results of their activities for teenagers, it is a success, not only because of the number of countries, but the enthusiasm and the ‘teenage hearts' of team members. And while this short article was under preparation – new news – the 101st country registered (Guatemala) and a few days later even the 102nd (Bangladesh). It is a challenge to be centenarian with youngsters that provoke and encourage.
