Fascinated by birds?

Then why not enter our students’ competition to mark the United Nations International Biodiversity Day on 22nd May.

Simply write down your most intriguing question about birds that you would like to ask other students all over the world – and then write down your own response to your question (in no more than 100 words).

Here is a sample question and answer to give you some ideas:

Question.  "What is the most interesting thing you have seen a bird doing?  What was the species of bird? Why do you think it was doing it?"

Answer.  "I heard a bird singing at night.  It was a male nightingale.  I think it was doing this to attract a female.  Because no other birds were singing during the night, it made it easier for the females as they flew over."

Colourful illustrations to accompany your entry are very welcome.

Entries are accepted in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese as well as Cantonese, Japanese and Russian.

Age categories 8-12 and 13 to 16 years.
