Students

Students enjoy communicating with other students especially when the exchange includes personal details and photographs as well as the basic data required by the exchange form.

Science teachers

Some teachers use a teaching topic as a means to set up a cross-curricular project with languages and other subjects such as geography. Teachers like the fact that the exchange offers a worthwhile reason for using information technology.

In some parts of the world it is very important to teachers that lots of the Science Across the World topics connect school science with life at home and in the local community.

Language teachers

The programme provides many of the learning opportunities that are central to effective language learning. The topics encourage young people to communicate now with other people in other countries about issues that are relevant to their lives.

Governments

Ministers and civil servants see the benefits of an approach to learning which has a global perspective, uses modern technology for communication and addresses topical issues which matter to citizens in the modern world.
